Even though there is no facility dedicated entirely for go-karting in NYC itself, there are some amazing indoor and outdoor tracks nearby that are perfect to host birthday parties or to have an adrenaline-filled racing weekend with family & friends!
Within the 5 boroughs of NYC, you can find Amusement Parks which have double seater karts but aren’t the fastest. To experience the fastest Karts, you’ll have to travel up North, but it will definitely be worth it!

RPM Raceway is an indoor go-karting facility located in Long Island, Jersey City, and Stamford. Their Go-karts are electric and can reach 45 mph!
This can be the perfect place to celebrate birthday parties or to have a weekend race with your family without having to travel too far.
All the centers have 2 tracks and are 1/4 mile long, occasionally the tracks are joined to form one 1/2 mile-long track.
The common theme across all three centers is that one track in each center has hairpin turns, double apex turn, and decreasing radii making them challenging while the other track has got more right-angle turns and increasing radii making them more beginner-friendly.
The pricing for group events starts at $40/person for kids and $60/person for Adults. In group events, you’ll be allowed to have a few races against your group. Check their website for more details about group events.
If you’re looking to make go-kart racing your new hobby, RPM raceway can be a good place to start, they organize league racing once every week throughout the year. Requirements for participation are to be at least 58″ and to have a driver’s license.

OVRP is an outdoor track located in Cuddebackville (about 2-hours away from NYC), this is one the best go-karting facility in the tri-state region!
They have karts for rental but the kart owners can also practice on their tracks. However, they are not open throughout the year. You can race here between April and November.
For rental, they have Gas-powered go-karts that can go 50 mph. Experienced karters can rent faster karts.
Kart owners can go for practice sessions and participate in NY championship races. Classes are the usual 2-stroke engines, 50cc for kids, 60 and 100cc for juniors, and 125 TaG and Shifters for Adults. For the 4-stroke engine class, LO206 engines are used for both Adults and Juniors.
Their sprint Track is 3/4 miles long and has 10 turns that include a hairpin turn, a double apex, and a few right-angle turns.
They also have a 1/5 mile long Oval Track!

When it comes to Indoor Go-karting, Autobahn Speedway is probably the best you can experience! The closest center from NYC is located in Palisades Center Mall in West Nyack.
Their Go-Karts are Electric and the karts (for Adults) have a top speed of 50 mph! The acceleration is amazing as well, you’ll definitely feel yourself getting pushed against the seats while riding the karts.
Their track contains all kinds of turns (hairpin, increasing radius, decreasing radius, etc) and straightway roads to reach the maximum speed.
Parties and Corporate events can be booked in advance (minimum 8 people in the group). Apart from Karting, they also have other activities like Axe-throwing and VR games.
The league racing in Autobahn centers is very frequent (3-4 times a year) and each tournament is 6-8 weeks long! It’s fair to say that you’ll get loads of opportunities to race.
The races include team endurance racings (10 member teams and 3 hour long races), solo endurance racing, and a king of the hill kind of racing. Since Autobahn is closer to NYC than the OVRP outdoor track, this can be a good place to start racing before moving outdoors.
4. Grand Prix New York Racing

GR New York is a multi-level indoor track located in Mount Kisco. The karts here are 6.5 hp gas-powered that can reach 25-30 mph. However, if you’re part of their private training and are skilled enough you can get a 9 hp kart which can reach 45-50 mph!
The unique feature of this place is the kid’s karts (4 to 8-year-olds). Kids have their own separate track and slower go-karts.
They feature 3 racing tracks, one for kids, another for juniors and adults, and the third one for adult racers and leagues racing.
On some racing days, they can even remove some barriers to connect tracks to make 1 bigger track. The tracks have hairpin turns, spiral ramp, constant radius turns, banked semi-oval turns, increasing radius turns, and several elevation changes.
They host league racing every Wednesday night for Adults and Saturday mornings for Juniors. Racing costs $75/week or $650 for the entire season. They also offer private lessons.

Luna Park is an amusement park in Coney Island, Brooklyn. They are famous mostly for their roller coaster rides, but they also have some double-seater Go-karts that you can try out.
Amusement park Go-karts are usually kids friendly and the same can be expected from Luna Park. You won’t find the fastest go-karts here but the roller coaster rides can make up for it! If your sole purpose is to go-karting then this or any other amusement Park may not satisfy you.

An amusement park in Staten Island that has Go-karts along with their other attractions. You shouldn’t expect a top speed of more than 15-20 mph.
Apart from Karting, their main attractions are a mini-golf arena and batting cages. Birthday parties or any other group parties can be hosted. Birthday parties cost about $475 for 12 participants, you can check all the activities available for parties on their website.

Tiki Action Park is another Amusement park with Go-karts, located in Centereach. Their Go-karts are double seaters.
Apart from Go-karts, they are famous for their mini-golf. Parties and other group events can also be hosted.
Note: If this is your first-time go-karting, there are a few rules common across all centers that you should be aware of:
- Wear closed toe shoes
- Long hairs should be tied back and out of the way (please do this, hairs getting stuck in the kart can cause horrific accidents)
- Wear Comfortable clothing
- Most importantly, follow the instructions given on the track.
