K1 Speed is the most popular Indoor-Kart racing operator in the USA and has one center located in Austin. Mostly popular among people looking for a place to celebrate birthdays and host other events, but that is not to say that their Go-Karts are not for racers.
All their Go-Karts are electric and can reach a speed of 45 mph! Tracks and configurations can be found on their website.
For competitive racers, they regularly host leagues for both adults and juniors to participate in, a good way to get into kart racing without spending loads of money!
The kart speed can be remotely controlled by their staff (as is the case with most karting facilities) but k1 Austin in particular has a lot of complaints from people about the speed control which is probably the only downside here.
For shorter wait times it’s better to visit the center on weekdays.
